Being Canadian and having lived in Calgary, I can’t even count how many times I’ve visited Banff National Park and stayed in a hotel. Some of my stays were memorable – think cozy, fireplace or an outdoor hot tub perfect for stargazing.
While other hotel stays were just OK and frankly unforgettable.
That’s why I’ve curated the best hotels in Banff for every budget. So not only will your hikes, skiing or time outdoors be the only highlight of your time in Banff, but also your hotel stay will be a highlight of your time in the Rockies.
Even if you live closeby in Calgary, a weekend in Banff or Lake Louise can be all it takes to feel you’ve been transported to another world and come back refreshed.
Luxury Accommodations in Banff, Canada:
If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or just believe in decadence for no other reason other than you're worth it, you can't do better than the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. I feel like royalty whenever I stay here. The hotel has welcomed royalty, celebrities, and singers since 1888. It has spectacular views, a 32 m lap pool, and a 20 m heated outdoor pool. The resort’s Willow Stream Spa even boasts a number of treatments, relaxing massages, and beauty treatments.

My second choice, that's slightly cheaper than the Fairmont Banff Springs but still luxurious and a hot spot for celebrities, is the Rimrock Resort. I attended a wedding here, and the opulence wowed all the guests. Plus, you'll feel like a celebrity here with their impeccable service and elegant rooms. The spa, and wellness center will make you feel pampered and well-rested. Rimrock hotel features meeting facilities, ski storage, a swimming pool, a bar, and shops on site.

4-Star Accommodation in Banff, Canada:
I love the rustic yet modern vibe of Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Located on the slopes of Tunnel Mountain, the homey rooms offer a wood-burning fireplace and private bathroom. Guests can work out at the gym or just chill and enjoy the majestic view of the Rocky Mountains in front of the fireplace.

Surrounded by some beautiful scenery, the iconic Fairmont Hotel Chateau Lake Louise has been attracting visitors, including celebrities, since it opened in 1912. Paradise Lodge and Bungalows' unique location give guests access to so many different activities. From skiing to access to Moraine Lake to hiking along the Bow Valley Parkway, there's plenty to keep everyone busy during their stay. While many hotels claim to have "super comfortable" rooms, this one really does deliver. Rooms include a microwave, mini-refrigerator, fast internet, and in-room coffeemakers. Special Mention
OK, this one technically is in Yoho National Park, so outside of Banff, but I included it since it’s just 20 minutes west of Lake Louise. And because it’s one of my favorite places to stay in all of the Canadian Rockies.
Located just outside of Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake Lodge is a favorite of locals wanting to get away from it all while seeking a luxurious hotel stay. It's one of my favorite places to stay in the Canadian Rockies . Situated amongst towering peaks and beautiful lakes. The lodge has an incredible three restaurants – the Mount Burgess Restaurant, the Kicking Horse Lounge, and the Cilantro on the Lake. Plus, many of the cabin-style rooms have wood-burning fireplaces. And there's an outdoor hot tub!
