Sandboarding is FUN! I have tried it in Huacacina (Peru) but I did not have the guts to stand. Then later on last March in Atacama, Chile. And I did stand this time (we had a great guide) and it was FUN! Sure, I had sand all over and it took me a few showers to get rid of it. I almost broke a leg falling down. I went down REALLY fast and never really learned to turn but heck, it was HILARIOUS!

@Mary – Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I think having a snowboarding/skateboarding background would definitely help. I think it’s good to try things that we’re not good at, and it was memorable!

@Cam – I think I like you’re idea of sitting in the sand with a cold beer, maybe I’ll try that next time. Interesting to hear that as a snowboarder you didn’t enjoy it. I thought I didn’t like it because I wasn’t a snowboarder.

That was a sweet bail! As someone that snowboards quite frequently, I have to say that sandboarding sucks. It’s way too slow and falling is absolutely terrible. We tried it in Peru but likely won’t try it again. I’d rather sit in the sand with a cold beer!
