In reply to noel. @Noel Agreed, but from the climbers I spoke to it appears to happen quite frequently and it puts everyone on the mountain in danger.

To visit a place to just prove something to yourself or a bucketlist is so not right if you don’t even spend the time to really prepare and take the time to get in the right mind and physical effort for this challenge.

Wow – I had no idea that this happened or the aftermath of the tragic accident. Ultimately a job like that should be paid well, but if everything is government controlled, there the likely hood is that it won’t.

Who risk assessed the climbing and decided it was fine to have so many people up there without avalanche transceivers, probes, shovels and training in avalanche rescue? Considering the sums of money changing hands it seems someone hasn’t been doing their job. Imagine what would have been reported if 16 clients and guides had been buried but the porters weren’t able to dig them out in time as they weren’t equipped and trained.
