Help:Image searching

There are a number of tools to help you find images on the Internet. To search in Commons' internal database, use Special:MediaSearch or Special:Search (see also Help:Searching). There are also several gadgets available to link to these tools - they can be activated by visiting your Preferences.

Image search gadgets

• TinEye: "TinEye is a reverse image search engine. It finds out where an image came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or if there is a higher resolution version." The TinEye gadget adds a tab on File pages which links to the TinEye website for a reverse image search on that file.
• Google Images: Google Images can also do a reverse image search. The Google Images gadget adds a tab on File pages which links to the Google Images website for a reverse image search on that file.
